Following studying for a BSc in Biochemistry at University of Bristol Helene completed a PhD at the University of Sheffield in 2004. In 2004 she started her career as a clinical scientist in the genetic diagnostic laboratory at St Mary’s Hospital, Manchester working across rare disease and cancer for a number of years. Helene is currently a consultant clinical scientist, leading the cancer team at the Manchester Genomic Diagnostic Laboratory and is the NW GLH solid tumour scientific lead.
